HI, I need some advice, I own a 1999 Coupe/Tiburon its a uk model and is only a 1600cc 16v. At the moment its all show and no GO!!! So i want to change the engine but what fits, is it a beta engine already in? Ive been told that a mitsi evo IV engine will fit but with what gearbox? Or is the best i can do is putting the 2000cc beta in? Any suggestions would be much appricated. Thanks Ste

from what I know, the engines do not line up in the newer tibs, but it can be done, someone on the forum has done it. I would say tho that the easiest swap would deff. be the 2.0 although they are not madly powerful, u can now buy the turbo kit, UFB turbo that is, with about the same money you would put down to make that mitsu fit in there. It would also be more powerful to turbo the 2.0 I think... although we have had no dynos!!

Hi this is Turboman,,,
My tib used to be 1.6ltrs but now i´ve swapped to 2.0ltrs beta.I suggest you put the 2.0ltrs and stay n/a.
If you decide to make your car turbo´d then you have to accept all the consequences eg.pay a lot,be reasonable and precautious.Turboing is a very nice mod but it has a lot of secrets believe me on that..

PS:Don´t even think of mitsu motor.It will cost you a lot and you won´t enjoy the perfection of the mod that the 2.0ltr beta will give you.Think about it and good luck.BTW where are you from??Been many times in GB<img src=/images/forums/snitz/wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0><img src=/images/forums/snitz/wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0><img src=/images/forums/snitz/wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

You can go to RPW Australia and buy one of their engines. I haven't heard any of the reviews on these, but they sound bad ass.
