I'm an getting a little annoyed at the mis-information that is being passed out. I have been correcting it but I have decided to just do 1 post to clear this up.

THE 2001 ELANTRA CAM IS NOT JUST THE GT CAM. IT IS FOR ALL 2001+ ELANTRAS. I have seen people telling other people they are different, they are not. They are the same part number. Please lets stop refering to it as the "GT" cam because some people are getting confused. Thank you.

GT cams?!?! who was reffering them to that???
its pretty common sense that both the elantra gls and gt have the SAME exact motor in it, which would be the 2001 2.0L beta......
i wonder why people would think the engines are diffrent the only diffrence between those cars are the features inside(leather, alloy, etc.) and the damn hatch in the back

Well, one reason people may think its different is because the persons promoting its use refer to it as the cam from the 2001+ Elantra GT. Also, we would think its different because it is also the same engine from the Tiburon, but yet, the cams in it are different, and a few other things. So of course we will refer to it as the GT cam, because we don't want to lead anyone astray. Don't get sick and tired of it, it's just to make sure we all know what the other is talking about.

But there is also an Accent GT, and the new Tiburon GT coming out. It already is confusing people. People have already asked the differences between the GLS/GT cams on various boards. Why not give out the CORRECT info instead of abbreviating it?

OK, so will the 2001 GT Intake cam that is sold at KORE improve the power in my 2000 2.0 beta Tiburon? Do you haveto replace the exhaust cam?
Thanks,
Moe

Even though they are the same cam if you pull it out of the GT instead it will give you 50hp more cause it is a GT. Just like putting NOS stickers on your car adds 50hp too.

Don't you know GT means fast?

What we need is some Post Nazis who have account deletion rights. IMHO over on the NABR boards which are PRIVATE, not only do we get supreme bandwidth since all the lurkers aren't swamping it, but all the posts are legible, interesting and rarely repeats.

This is all mainly because if you step out of line on NABR once - your history.

New members have to be sponsored by an existing member & if the new member stuffs up on FNG status both memberships are deleted.

Given those rules NABR is privy to have representatives from Buschur Racing, Forced Performance, Magnus Motorsports and others regularly posting on the board.

It may seem draconian - but IMHO the time wasters get booted and the good members get a low latency highly informative BBS.

If you love it so much then stay over there. Here in America, we have a sense of humor...and having fun while posting on the boards is what makes us all friends...if you want to have BBS Nazis, go to where ever they are...

I think the low down on why everyone refers to the '01 Elantra/GT cam as simply the "GT" cam is because at the moment, everyone knows what the GT is referring to; the Elantra GT...now that the Tiburon GT is out...I personally will just call it the '01 Elantra cam...does it make you feel better?
