I read in the previous thread some info about fat burners. Kirk was mentioning that he took them for a month, trying to loose some weight. How do they work?

Also, I think that I am going to start working out soon, that AbTronic is not the way to go... there is a very tiny difference, but I think that it will improve if I work out as well.

If I don't know exactly what to do to get in shape faster (I don't have to loose weight that much, maybe 10 lbs the most) I only have to tone my body... should I get a trainer?

Thanks.

No, you just gotta do ALOT of cardio,... running is the best, and get into an aerobics class helps too.
If you start running, Start easy on the treadmill and go from there.
Start with 5 - 10 mins on a brisk walk, then next day increase it to a jog, then run then next day and more time, and so forth.
I started last week, and I've lost 2lbs! I run and I also lift weights.
Do a search on the web and you'll find lots of stuff on tips and what to do. I went to men's health.com and got some tips, but I'm not sure if it targets women's workouts too. But I'm sure there are other sites that will help.
You don't need a trainer, just read lots,... Just do it at work and then afterwork, you'll have time to workout

Hope that helps,... Oh yeah, and cut back on the junk food, ie: chips, pop, etc,... Drink water when thirsty, and grab a banana or apple, when you feel like a snack. As well bananas help your muscles heal faster,... not sure exactly how, but someone told me a while ago, I'm sure Doc can explain.

Anyway, start the running, most easiest thing to do!

I have already accomplished the 1st part, I don't drink pop or any fizzy drinks... I also don't eat chips anymore, or any junk food.

No Burger King either... heh

I have lots of endurance, so I will start with 15-20 mins running. I don't know of any sites...

The reason why I wanted to get a trainer is because I wanted him/her to show me HOW it's done, it's hard to see it in pictures... I guess.

But thanks for the tips.

Silky,

Fat burners work by increasing your metabolism. When your metabolism increases you burn more energy and thus fat. However, your temperature, Blood pressure, and anxiety levels go up too. This is why fat burners should be avoided as well as any other products that cause weight loss through this type of mechanism.

Check with Cupdaddy and Lantra about proper work out techniques. There are sites about women's health.

Keep eating alot of fresh fruits and vegetables.

I don't know if this is true with all of them and with all people or not, but my aunt after having a baby couldn't loose the weight and bought some. She took them for about 6 months and lost a lot! But...yeah there is a but, she stopped and then all the weight came back on Needless to say, not very good stuff.

Well, of course... if you stop right away, then the body cannot handle that change and the weight will go back on faster then it was lost.

Ok, thanks guys... I will e-mail you later on, I am at work right now, gotta finish some tasks first.

Are there any side effects?... Is she also exercising?

I also did a search on gnc.com and there is no such thing as Hydroxycut.

Hydroxycut is a very good fat burner but it is one of the strongest as well which also means u get really bad jitters, u are high strung, and for guys it causes temporary impotence, I know all of this cause I took them. I lost 30 lbs in 4 months. I also had a very short fuse and hydroxycut isn't intended for ppl who weight train and run as well. It decreases your strength and endurance. On a good note though they are the best fat burners on the market today, next in line is xenadrine, which is what I was takin untill today when I decided that I didnt like the possibility of future health problems.

Kaijai:
I suggest for around the gut area watch your saturated fat, carbohydrates, and calorie intake. And do as many cruches or any othger abdominal exercise as possible per week I suggest starting out at 2 times per week then work your way up to 4 times per week and you should start seeing results in bout 3 weeks or so.for your thighs I suggest running a few times per week or starting out with a fast walk and working into a jog. I also suggest lightweight leg presses and leg extensions.
Good Luck Bro.

Thanks dude!
I already do like 160 or so crunches a day (40 -50 before I start, 40-50 during the workout and the rest afterwards), and I've started working out 3 or 4 times a week. (started a few weeks ago)
I really should do more running, I'm upto 12 minutes on a pretty steady pace, trying to go up a couple of minutes each week.
And I do lift weights,...
Been following these tips:
http://www.menshealth.com/fitness2/owenworkout1.shtml

Still on stage 1, but I'm seeing results!

I guess I wanted you to sound like an infomercial, and say: DO *THIS* And you will lose that gut

OH well, I guess I'll have to keep working hard at it

Thanks Again.

LMAO Naw I just suggest stuff and if u do it right than u will but I do not offer a money back guarantee!! Lol. One other thing u can try for ur abs that works really well are hanging knee/Leg raises. What u do is find a pull up bar and hang on it then raise ur knees or if u can raise ur legs I suggest 4 sets of 25 if u cant do it w/ ur legs than just do it w/ ur knees. U may wanna go buy grip straps to help, I suggest the padded ones.

Good Luck Bro
