FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., September 11, 2001 - Hyundai Motor Company today unveiled the all-new 2003 Tiburon at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The all-new Hyundai coupe, known as the Tiburon in North America, the Hyundai Coupe in Europe and the Tuscani in Korea, will offer buyers a combination of stylish design, high quality and outstanding performance.

The new Tiburon is longer and wider than the current version with a longer wheelbase for improved ride and handling. The new exterior design incorporates both straight lines and curves to emphasize vitality and strength.

In addition to the peppy 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine found in the current Tiburon, the 2003 model will be available with Hyundai's all-aluminum DOHC 2.7-liter V6 engine. Buyers will have a choice of three transmissions in the V6 model; the four-speed automatic with Shiftronic manual shift control, a revised 5-speed manual, and a sporty 6-speed manual transmission.

After nearly four years of development the new Hyundai Tiburon is set to further enhance the company's reputation by appealing to a new family of drivers looking for the very top level of performance. The top-of-the-line Tiburon will be fitted with the V6 engine, five-speed or six-speed manual transmission, 17-inch wheels with performance tires and dual exhaust.

The interior design is simple, yet functional and in the Hyundai tradition the new Tiburon is loaded with value features. The standard equipment list for the new Tiburon will be filled with features that cost extra on the competition.

The all-new Hyundai Tiburon is expected to go on-sale in the U.S. during the first quarter of 2002 as a 2003 model.

Hyundai Motor America, headquartered in Fountain Valley, Calif., is a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Co. of Korea. Hyundai cars and light trucks are distributed throughout the United States by Hyundai Motor America and are sold and serviced through more than 500 dealers nationwide.
