There is a gonna be a large spread on the following:

'03 Tiburon V6 6-speed
'02 Sentra V-Spec 6-speed
'02 RSX Type S 6-speed
'02 Celica GT-S 6-speed

I forget what the title is gonna be but it had something to do with the import 6-speed battle or something like that.

My cousins husband works for 'one of the magazines' but she had wrote me an e-mail cause I have been pestering her for the last 4 monthes for numbers for the Tiburon V6 6-speed. They have been doing the whole track stuff for the past week and she said he was going to give me 'unofficial' numbers if you know what I mean.

I should receieve them tommorow around 5:00 latest.

(I just wrote a second e-mail to get ALL the stats like braking, etc)

I will post the second I get them.

Watch for Grassroots Motorsports. They are doing an EXCELLENT comparison between the Tib, Sentra, SVT Focus, Civic Si, Neon ACR and a few others.

Numbers were taken from the Las Vegas Speedway in Nevada.

Couple notes from the drivers:

- "Acceleration is more than competitive."
- "All competitors (as listed above) can threaten the Tiburon in a straight line, but are powered by high revving fours whose buzziness pervades the cabin when they're making serious horsepower. Hyundai's V6, by comparison, purrs like a Mercedes past its 6,500RPM redline".
- "Handling is also vastly improved over previous Tiburons."
- "Also ride on a 'sport-tuned suspension that is substantially firmer than last year's."
- "Doesn't handle quite as well as the RSX Type-S, but for the first time the Hyundai is in the same league."
- "Even ringing it out on the speedway road course failed to expose any major weaknesses, save for front brakes that would eventually fade, an unlikely even in even the hardest street driving."
- "there are more improvements inside, most notable is the fit and finish, now more appealing to sophisticated buyers"
- "the other interior foible (other then the rear seat which he complained about), is that there's more wind noise than desirable."
- "continue the company's reputation for great value, but now add exceptional performance to the equation."

Thats the points that they are gonna put together for the part on the Tiburon anyway, there was a couple other things like changes that all of you SHOULD know about.

TIMES!! (0-60 1/4)

Tiburon GT V6 6-speed 7.2 15.4
RSX Type-S 6-speed 6.1 14.8
Celica GT-S 6-speed 6.6 15.2
Sentra SE-R V-Spec 6-speed 7.4 15.7

Unoffical rankings 1) RSX 2) Celica 3) Tiburon 4) Sentra

The other numbers I was hoping for skid pad 60-0 he didn't e-mail me them

Thanks for digging for this. The 1/4 mile time is just about where I expected, the 0-60 is a bit better than I expected

A local mag in the Netherlands tested a Celica GT against a Coupe 4 cyl. The numbers:

Coupe: 0-100km/h: 9.4 sec, topspeed 206km/h.
Celica: 0-100km/h: 8.7 sec., topspeed 205 km/h.

Prices:
Coupe: 22675 euro ($19750,-)
Celica: 27150 euro ($23640,-)

The endconclusion of the article: the celica is not worth the extra 5000 euro. Get a coupe and invest the extra cash in some mods...

PS: the coupe had airco as standard, on the celice it was optional. But the celica had the 6-speed gearbox.
