Yesterday night took out an accord .this guy stops on red and starts to rev his engine - well its was late and we were on middlesex turnpike so i dropped from D to 2 and we were off .being on manual he got off initially but the sonata came alive when i shifted upto 3 and beat him to the turn by 1 car length.Mine is a stock auto but still its my first kill and i think its time for some mod i been waiting for the break in period for the engine .by the way both where the v6`s

Thats pretty good man. Considering the Sonata V6 has 170 hp and the Accord V6 has 200 hp. And let me tell you...That accord moves. I have driven one. Anyway...Nice job showing that Honda whos boss!

I eat Honda Civics for breakfast, Toyota Corollas for lunch, and Volkswagen Jettas for dinner

i think its to do with the fact that the
fuzzz logic chip in this sonata .u drive em hard and trust me this chips are smart .My car does not go to 4th till i let the gas off around 80 .i think that one advantage. As a first mod i am flashing it and putting a new code.a little over 8 hp and a little boost in torque around 8 can be gained at the tires theni am plannig a air ram kit so i think with 400$ i can increase the hp to 185 and torque by another 15.i think that should kick a lot of stock car azzz heee.A sleeper in everyway except when riced!!
Any one racing a sonata remember that our 0-60 is done with gear on D and the strongest ratio is on 3 [120 -clocked by me!!!]4th can take to 115 but 3 is the way to go.
i think 0-60 is also much less with drive on 3 -- i think this has to do with the gear ratio the honduh have more acc as they have a ratio of 1: 4 meaning one rotation of flywheel takes 4 powerstrokes and in hyundai its 1:3.33 something so its a lot smother and the chance of buring rubber may decrease but u will get off with no loss in traction.so i think understanding the car gives u a better chance in a rice! my .02cent
