Well, done it again.
Beat a late 80s MR2 down a long street block to middle of third. Pretty much even, nose and nose, through first. I shifted first because of the rain and uphill, wanted to leave it in second a little longer. The 1st resonator is removed, when it "honked" around 4500 in 2nd he thought I was gonna shift. He shifted shortly after and lost a car length before I did. After the shift he kept his nose even with my tail until about 60, then I started to get a half car on him, put my blinker on, and changed lanes to enter the freeway. He swapped lanes then tried to fly by when the next light changed.
He definately had a faster car but not enough experience. Chalk another one up to a more skilled driver in the underdog car.
