For a 2001 accent, would a 37mm offset be ok?

I might be getting some rims for cheap 16x7, 4x100 37 offset, if i won't run into problems with that offset.<img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle>

recommended is +40 from what I know. Yes, 3mm could make a diff. but it's up to you, I'd say it depends how cheap!!!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Stock is +43. The Tib rims I have on my car right now are 6.5" wide with a +43 offset as well and they fit beautifully.

Just do a quick test fit of the rims if they'll let you. I believe +37 is around the minumum that will fit.

Hmm, i'd have to see where i'd could pick them up. Its a factory direct special from O.Z. on supertourismo coursa in 16x7, 4x100, 37 ET for $120.<img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>

i wanna know is goin over a 40 offset is bad
cause i wanna get these rims http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-c...&showTutorial=0&ed=1004489631&indexURL=0&rd=1

i kno they will fit, but is the offset to big??
also i plan on gettin 205/40s for these rims..........

Alright at the risk of going off on a tangent here will a 37 offset be alright for a 97 Accent or should i take the same advise that was given for the 2001?

OK, I know the answer first hand. I have Team Dynamics on my car right now with a +38mm offset. I ran into some minor fitment problems, but after taking care of them the rims fit perfect (I get full travel without rubbing) I have a 16x7 with 205/40/16's and coil overs so it sits pretty low and never rubs.

The problem I had was with the rear trailing arm. Without notching it the rim wouldn't even bolt flat onto the hub! I'm not sure how the newer style set up is, but I'm pretty sure you'll run into the same problem. I had to cut a notch in the trailing arm and re-enforce it so it was still solid (I found out the trailing arms are hollow, so they are stronger now then they ever where). I bought these wheels with this offset on purpose knowing that I needed to do this to make them fit. I wouldn't recomend everyone to do this unless they have experience with welding or know some one who does, but if you have the means then I'd definitly recomend it.

On the other hand a +40mm offset fits fine without any modifications, so why waste the time I did. <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle> I just always do things the hard way <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

so what im hearing from everyone is that a 16inch and up needs a +40mm offset correct, if so then like everyone says, i should be fine
