i was very happy with this run, this is my first run in a 4 cylinder front wheel drive car on a dragstrip.

my bottle pressure was at 875 psi. VERY LOW and NOT ENOUGH PRESSURE TO GET THE TRUE HP FROM THE NITROUS SYSTEM... i have not yet installed my bottle heater....

the car was weighed..

without me in it. 2680 (no spare tire)
with me in it 2850 (no spare tire)

well, thats all folks.

i can go 14's with 950 psi in the bottle, i'm 100% positive i can do it.

also, my car is 100% bone stock besides the nitrous system.

stock muffler and everything. AUTOMATIC

HORSEPOWER CALCULATOR SAYS...
Your trapspeed was 93.83 miles per hour
and your vehicle weight was 2850 pounds.

You are making 187 hp at the wheels.

that is 10% less than my engine power of 210 HP with nitrous.
so my automatic is sucking up 10% of my power to move the car... not bad for an automatic !

at the track... i raced a GS-T eclipse with 16 psi of boost, intake and exhaust, upgraded computer system.. .. he also had the heads up computer similar to that of "fast and furious movie"....

i beat him by a full second.

his 1/4 mile time was 16.462 @ 88.08 mph. !! HA !!!!

I don't know if you were being sarcastic about that eclipse, but on any other day under normal conditions that car would be running 13's, low 14's at the slowest. and is that horsepower calculation really accurate?

why did you put nitrous in an automatic hyundai?

When you get the timeslip scanned in, e-mail it to [email protected] and we'll put it into your car profile.

just a note.. i spanked myself another ricer civic with a fart can tonight... he had intake/headers/cat-back/ suspension... i put 5 cars on him by 60.. and from a roll i let him get a car in front.. then i juiced him and put 5 cars on him by 80 ! haha :)

his car was quick, no doubt, he would have spanked me without the juice.. i've upped the jetting to 80HP now.. runs like magic ! :)

... my magic hyundai ! hahaha

ok, i've already been through 3 more bottles on the 80 shot..

why do you assume that something will break at this horsepower level ?

look at it this way, i can use a turbo to add 80 hp on a stock engine safely, i could also do it with a supercharger...

so, whats the difference with nitrous?

the way i see it, nitrous is the best choice amont those for ease of installation and tuning.

:)

the power is in the fuel. :)

and another thing... think about this for a moment.. there are other cars out there, with the same design as the 2.0L beta that run 210 (rated) hp stock.. such as the eclipse gs-t motor.. iron block/aluminum head... this type of engine is known to be one of the strongest.. also, if i was to rip off the turbo/ and use stock compression pistons in a gs-t motor, then it would also have just about the same power as the beta engine...

since the gs-t can easily handle the boost and make 210 hp, add an intake/exhaust and up the boost to 10-15 psi and your up in the 230-250 hp range give or take a few...

i would say that the beta engine can easily handle the same power levels with stock internals.

thats why i have not broken anything with this much nitrous.. its basically 10 more hp than a gs-t engine runs stock !!!

SHEESH>... if it was gonna break, it would have broken a LONG time ago dude. :)

laterz.

Fordfaster... I think it will be safe comparing the stock beta internals to a 4A20 engine from an Eclipse (Non-Turbo.) 4G63T blocks are bulletproof! They can handle upto 400WHP with no internal modifications whatsoever. I think you can run comfortably with the 80HP shot on the beta (internally stock) but you're right on the threshhold. Be careful!

There's a difference between an 80 HP turbo and an 80 HP "single-shot" nitrous system. The turbo builds power gradually. The "single-shot" nitrous systems shock your engine with an additional 80 HP all at once. If you want your motor to last, I'd get a progressive controller, like the Jacobs mastermind or NOS controller. I'm not saying 80 HP is gonna blow the motor, I don't know what the "magic" number is, but when it does go, it's gonna go BIG.

Fordfaster,
Dude in the long run you will break something. Don't compare a turbo engine from the factory that already has low compression and hardened piston and connecting rods to a normal aspirated engine. By the way I hope you know that NOS is corrossive and the more you used it the faster it damages your engine. Peace

You should hear my cams/valves at 80,000kms.

There is a lot of loud clicking going on under there that you can barely hear when the hood is down but very loud when its up.

Glad I m gettin rid of it in the next couple weeks (MY TIBURON IS OFFICIALLY ON THE TRUCK THURSDAY!!)
