Hmm Im not sure if my belts are on tight enough, When I turn my car on the alternator belt squeeks a bit, I got new belts and everything a few months ago I think they might just need adjusting!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I was going to say. If they squeak, then you usually need new belts. But if you got them a few months ago...Your probably right, they just need adjusting.

General rule of thumb is belts should have 1/4" to 1/2" of travel on the LONGEST run of the belt.

If they still squeek, go to your local auto parts store and buy some "belt dressing". It's about 5 bucks and conditions and quiets belts.

Leave it to Random to Needlessly complicate things.
