If its a chip, you can get that fixed by a glass specialist. If its a crack, get a new windshield ASAP. It will continue to crack overtime and then it may shatter at one point while you are driving with the force of the wind.

Same thing happened to mine, started out as a crack and now it damn near runs the length of the windshield. I am waiting till after winter before getting a new one cause they put rock down here so that would suck if I got a new one only to get it cracked again.

I got my first chip in my windshield this past weekend, and it just happen to be directly in my driver side view. I was so disappointed. I'm thinking about going to get it fixed so it doesn't run and crack. It's been four days and no cracking yet...so should I get it fixed?

Stacy get it fixed asap cause it will be a lot cheaper than paying for an entire windsheild.

Got a big crack in the upperleft side of the windshield. About 4 inches long. Been driving with that for 15.000km now. Just because I don't want to pay for a new one

The problem is the winter. Due to the differences in temperature inside and outside the crack will grow bigger over time.

Don't worry too much about shattering the windshield. These things are amazingly strong....

I got the chip in my windshield fixed yesterday. I found a place that sends someone to your work place. It only took about ten minutes and is hardly visible now. The best part is that is didn't cost me anything. Even though I have a $250 deductible on my insurance, State Farm waived the deductible for the repair.

Not only does temperature cause the crack to keep going but, driving and turning does too, everynow and then you might hit a bump or so and the frame will bend a bit or vibrate, It happens all the time, we just dont notice, Having a cracked window with such vibrations and handling will make it longer aswell, Trust me I know from experiance. I used to drive my step dads 94 Toyota pictup, One time we went 4 wheelin and a rock flew up and cracked the windshield, he kept driving recklessly and his windshield began to crack even more, by the time we got him he had a LONG crack from one side to the other.

WytchDctr if you have full coverage insurance you may have a glass break clause in there that gives you no deductable on getting your glass fixed. this will also not raise your rates. Check into it.
