Hello everybody,

Recently i bought an Accent 1.3 SOHC A/T Mod 2001 which i facing a little question.
I believe that it's fuel consumption is much more than it should be.

I calculated that it needs about 11lt/100km with fairly good driving conditions and
not speeding up more than 100km/h.

I heard that automatic gear boxes consume a liitle bit more but i dont believe that it should be that much.

Can anyone inform me as were the problem may be found as i heard many opinions.

It is serviced ok with a new air filter, oil, spark plugs, and all neccesary belts.

Also what is the average fuel consumption this engine should go ?

Thanks

gimics don't work. You'll spend 100$CDN on a new high flow panel filter for your intake and maybe get .1Lt better/100km. Not worth the savings in the long run.

Or you can go for a short ram intake which you may get even slightly better fuel economy but you'll love the sound to much and punch the gas.

The stock spark plugs are plenty good enough

The problem is the tranny. revs to high at highway speeds.

follow wytch doctors advice.

it`s true that A/T transimisons take up few more fuel.

if there is no check engine light on, if the spark plugs and wires are ok, air filter ok too, then that`s normal in you case :D

take off the foot from pedal a bit
