OK, So I got a 2001 Hyundai ELantra an Im looking around online an Im seeing two different motor type's, G4GC and G4GF, whats the difference, is there one. I'd like to know whats in my car, and if there is a better 2.0 or a worse one. Just not sure if one or other is a better motor or not. Im not sure what one is in my car, I would like to know if anyone could tell me.

G4GF is the older for version of the G4GC which has minor redisgns but the major difference is the variable cam timing.

Beta 2 has the VVT solenoid sticking out of the head above exhaust port #4. You see that, it's a G4GC engine. Engine/head types don't interchange as the engine management controls VVT function.
