I noticed a spot on the inside of the door that appears like you can place the cap there when refueling, but not sure about it, can you just snap the cap into the clips? Am I even right about this? Or am I just a dumbass?

Mine has the gas cap tied to the car. I haven't really tried to see it would go on the gas door.

Yeah you can slide the cap in while refueling, but have any of you experienced any problems with getting the dam fuel door to release on a GT!? It takes me at least 3-5 pulls on the fuel door release on my driver's side before that thing opens up!!

You too, huh. My GT takes a couple of good tugs to pop. Another GT that I test drove was the same way.

I thought I was alone on that one too, dealer is 1.5 hrs away so not major enough for me to have it looked into yet. But I have to play with the release a while to get the fuel door to open

Mine was fine for the first 2 months. Now it's a pain to open it. I'm going to the dealer tomorrow. They'l take a look at it.

Just came back from the dealership. They fixed the fuel door. Also I got a free alignment. Everything was covered by the warranty!

well i noticed on my 01 elantra GLS that if i was in a hurry it would take a couple times. But now all i do is gently pull up and wait a couple seconds. the door doesnt have a heavy spring on it. so just be paitent. plus the harder you pull on those the more its going to strech the cable out and and the more often you will have to re-adjust it

the only problem I had with my gas door is it icing up. I just gave it a good hard tap and pulled it again and it opened up just fine.
