well, if the funding comes through...I should be getting a jet black 2001 2nd gen tib this week...pkg 4, keyless entry remote, "deluxe" console, etc...for 15.5k. is that decent?

basically i'm just waiting to hear from my bank...i feel good about it...but you know...all i can do now is hope and hope and hope and hope and hope and hope and hope and hope some more...

well, when i went there a couple months ago for pricing and a test drive, the asshole salesman offered me a pkg 3 for 15.9k, so this is a pkg 4 for 15.9k and i "talked him down" to 15.5k. I'm happy with that...I didn't beat him up for it...it was real quick and easy (which told me I could have gotten a lower price) but I'm happy with it. I had 15k even in my mind, but 15.5 is to me an acceptable compromise. I'm just waiting on my bank...I know I'll get bought by the dealer if my bank doesn't come through...but I'll get a better financing deal from my bank. So its all about being patient right now...

pkg 5 adds the sunroof...i got the hardtop in case i decide to eventually cut out for the targa top...and if i decide not to, an aftermarket sunroof will be less expensive anyway! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

and yes, the sales people down at my local dealership were saying the other night that the 2000+ Tib leather seats were much better quality then the Sonata and Elantra. There are no more Tiburons on the dealer lots so I wasn't able to compare <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

well...as i've had it for a day now...i like it the way it is. a sunroof would take away headroom wouldn't it? and in houston...sunroof's about as worthless as a convertible...just not the right climate for it...why pay 1500 for it or whatever if i only use it in on either of the cold weather days we have every year, ya know?

OK you need to do some SERIOUS negotiating with the dealer, i got a package 5 2001 tiburon for 14.7, here are a couple of tips to get dealers to lower prices:

find other dealers in town that have articles in newspapers and see if any other dealerships can beat the price.

DONT TELL THEM WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO SPEND

and if all else fails: lets say you want a silver tiburon, the dealership has a couple of silver ones, but they are completely out of blue ones. Throw a fit, complain, cry do whatever you have to do to make them think that you have your heart set on a blue car, then after they tell you they dont have any blue ones, tell them that you will take a silver one, but tell them that they will have to knock off some money because you are going to another dealership to find a blue one if they dont, and trust me, they will always knock off some money just cause they dont have your color.
