I was going to get something to eat this evening when ahead of me I see a Civic Si and a Jeep Grand Cherokee racing. The Jeep handed him his ass. I laughed my ass off. And yes they were racing, I could hear he was full throttle.

LOL, I love racing those in SUV's I raced them all the time in my moms stock ford explorer v6! that thing would KILL them. I could even hang with w v8 magnum dodge there for a couple gears!<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

Kill "them" who? Please don't say Si's because the fastest Explorer (97+ Explorer Sport w/ 4.0L SOHC 200hp, yes it was faster than the Explorer V8) is still a low 17 second truck (I know cause I almost bought one), which is Civic DX territory <img src=/images/forums/snitz/smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

Whats with those things.. i knew someone that got an SI and took out my freinds Grand Am.. he put I/H/E and the Grand AM beat him.. it took NOS for the SI to win again.. any explination for this? I used to race a 4.0L 200hp Auto 2wd Explorer Eddie B. Edition and would kill it in my nissan 4cyl (Nissan 0-60 10.87 was my fastest run ever 1/4 mile was prolly high 18's if not 19's) off the line and at speed (60+mph) Maybe its a weight thing Eddie B./Sport?

Whoa. Bet that Civic wished he had taken things at little more seriously. <img src=/images/forums/snitz/laugh.gif width=15 height=31 border=0>I read that the Grand Cherokee with the 4.7 v-8 (235 hp) could do 0-60 in the low 8's. The 1/4 mile in 16.5 or so. I think there is 260 hp version of the v-8
as well. That SI SHOULD have taken him anyway. He either f*cked up a shift or got cocky and didn't go for it till it was too late.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/finger.gif width=33 height=15 border=0>

A guy in my squad has a Jeep Cherokee v8.. but its ragged out.. he drives like he is raceing some imaginary freind everywere he drives (Waiting on a court date for a 13point ticket too).. He put 3k of damage when he thought he was raceing a freind (he was on the shoulder)... but it wasn't who he thought it was so they didn'tlet him over and he wasn't looking forward. At about 60-70mph he ramp a big pile o dirt.. smashed the frount of it all up.. not only that it keeps balding one tire really fast so we think something happened to his AWD system in the wreck.. i won't race him cuz he scares the hell outta me<img src=/images/forums/snitz/laugh.gif width=15 height=31 border=0> Point of all that.. i have never raced one so i don't know.

I raced a Cherokee once with my old engine. The guy had his whole family stuffed in there..and he wasted me. Was pretty funny...I never laughed so hard. I should do much better now though..<img src=/images/forums/snitz/wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>
