I'm saving for a new car and I'm interested in getting a Tiberon and then customizing it. I have read reaviews and half of them reported problems with some parts and with the paint and the other half said they loved the car and had no problems. I want more opinions weather I shoulds get this car or get a different one.

I'm refering to any of the Tibs as long as its from 98-to now. Although I dont really like the way the new tibs have the lights stick out a little. Doesnt the 2003 tibs have different front lights that look similar to the older design?

He wants opinions, so I'll be honest. The first 2 1/2 years my car was awesome. Then my tranny blew. Dealer tried to tell me they wouldn't cover it under that lovely 10-year warranty thing. After a month and a half in the shop, I got my car back. Two weeks later, it ran like sh!t. I got it back today, plug wires (and maybe others) were replaced. Computer showed a misfire in cylinder #2 - duh! It runs fine now.

Don't get me wrong, I love my car and have absolutely no regrets what-so-ever on buying it. In fact, I am trying my A$$ off right now to buy a 2003 either this week or next. It is all up to what the dealer will give for my car, and how much I can talk them down (ha, yeah right.)

All in all: he11 of a car. Buy the mofo, man!

There was a gastank recall last year, something about the pressure cracking the tank. I got my new one put in, you should go to your dealer and see if they can do the recall yet.

no offence to the 1st gen car owners, it's still a tib so it kixs azz anyway, and still a nice lookin car. every one has they're own opinion

I'm selling my first gen. E-mail me if you're interested. If you don't want mine specifically, then definately get a first gen, IMO. I really like the body and they are GREAT cars. No probs yet and I've had it for a year.
