Header questions. Need your help.

I was checking out these DC sports headers. Here is the link: http://www.ptuning.com/html/Item-Desc.cfm?PartNo=PTHHR4501&MakeCode=hyunda&ModelCode=tiburo&ModelYear=2003%2D2005%20All%20V6&ModelDesc=Tiburon

I don't know a lot about engines so I want to ask some questions. A standard GK V6 has an O2 sensor before and after each catalytic convertor. These headers eliminate the catalytic convertor and just have ports for all 4 sensors.

My question is if each sensor is reading the samething, won't this cause my engine light to come on since the gases that are normally filtered out won't be?

Probably. And why would you want to eliminate the cat? what, for another 1 or 2 hp? How greedy can you be? Be right and get a headrer which you can use a cat.
i would say snatch them up and just latter on get some o-2 sensor simulators
or do what i did for awile and just about once a month reset the ecu and drive on
There is a company on ebay that sells a 5 dollar adapter that screws into the bung of header and raises the O2 sensor out of the heat. The O2 sensors read the heat of the gas not really the potency of it. The adapter was the only thing I could get to work on my SPEC-V when I put a header on it. Did any of you guys put headers on a V6 tib? And if so, what is the easist way to get to the back exhaust manifold, I cant seem to get a ratchet on it.

i have done the headers halfway (i never took the rear off) because i was missing the test pipe piece. i didnt want to drive around with my exhaust hanging nor did i want to take it off so i just put my car back up to stock to make a temporary solution. anyhow i did get the rear hot plate off and if you're trying to get at the top manifold bolts the easiest way to do it is take off the intake manifold and throttle body and remove it from the engine bay completely. then remove the intake manifold rear mounting bracket and that should clear up ALOT of room. i was able to stick my fullsize impact gun down there and remove my rusted hot plate bolts.

hope this helps you some. As for the bolts on the underneath good luck because i never attempted to remove them. just be sure to soak them in penetrating oil or wd40 the night before.
