My 2000 Tib blew BOTH headlights within a weeks time and I replaced the blown bulbs with a set of blues. About a month later, one of those bulbs blew. I replaced it. Another month later the other one blows. Is anyone else blowing headlight bulbs left and right? Replaceing them is becoming a bitch!

You know whats funny I never had this Problem for almost a year untill my friend asked me this question I laughed at him and then That day That very Day no Lie one of my lights blew out...sense then I have had this Prob sometimes they will stay for couple of months sometimes longer its comon in most Tibs...I suggest if you dont have this problem keep to your self because the second you say something (like me) your headlights will start blowing

i've had the same problem as well. i had switched to hiper industry bulbs which in about 3 months time the right one blew out. thus, i replaced both with my factory bulbs. in about a month i would say, the left one blew out, and 2 weeks later the right one went out. i could understand about the hiper bulbs considerin my friend had the same problem in regards to those bulbs. but i question the fact that the factory ones blew so quickly. needless to say, it sucks replacing 3 bulbs in a 4-5 month period. if anyone has any idea why this is happening, it'd be much appreciated.

Heres the answer to ur headlight blowing problems. Go to your local auto part store and pick up a tube of electric grease, put this grease on the ends of the bulbs and put some on the harness then just put the bulb back in and it should be fine, I had the same problem awhile back in my Kia then I picked this stuff up and they lasted me till I got rid of the car, that was about almost a year with the same 2 bulbs without ever blowing. This should solve your bulb blowing problems.

that's what i was thinking, there is not supposed to be anything on them, grease, nothing, oils, whatever, that is supposed to make them blow almost instantly...

not on the bulb itself, put it on the prongs of the bulb where u have to put it in the harness.

It's called diode grease. It improves the electrical connection and also helps prevent corrosion and whatnot. Just put a dab on each prong and you should be good to go!

Actually dielectric grease same stuff used on plug wires to make better contact and such.

Just a small bit will be more than enuff.

Works nice on gaskets too, especially if you remove the part very oftern you can use the grease on one side and 90% of the time the paper gasket will come off with the part and still be useable

I had the same situation happen to me. I’ve talked to a bunch of people this has happened to.
We shouldn’t have to be dealing with this problem. Hyundai should have a fix for this.
Like redesigning the light fixture so it seals better.
I’ve also had problems when turning on my wipers. Every time they would oscillate my door chime would go ding-dong.
I have also just recently had my whole electrical system reset it self. I lost time on the clock and all my settings on the radio.

ya know when you take the bulb out of the package,..don't touch the bulb, ..at all, if ytou have gloves or a pirece of paper towel, use this to touch the bulb. The oil from your fingers becomes a weak acidic willl eventually casue the bulbs to blow. Unless you hit a bump really hard,... then just ignore everything I just said.

I had to have my Radio replaced. The audio would cut out but the display would keep illuminated
The dealer replaced it for me.
It doesn't matter because I have a Clarion 5575 head unit, Clarion processor, MB Quarts front SP, x2 12 inch PPI Pro Subs, PPI 6x50 Amp and a PPI 30 band EQ. Going in my car. I showed in IASCA and USAC.

Veilsidetib00, thats a common thing in about 95% of cars, any time u put an amp or 2 that pull alot of power, ur gonna get dimmed lights. There isnt really a way to fix it unless u get a HUGE altinator. I have 2 extra batteries in the back of my civic(getting either 2001 or 2003 tib soon) & my lights still dim some when my bass hits really hard.....nothing to worry about....but if the lights r dimming a pretty large amount....i would recommend buying a dry cell battery & hookin it up in the trunk

if u have any ?s about this u can e-mail me at [email protected]
