I'm refering to what you pick up at the convenience store, what do you all drink? I just tried one called Fuze that I thought is pretty good. Today I had one of the "vitaboost" variety, Citrus Starfruit Punch. Only 2% juice, but 100% of daily Vitamin A, E and Selenium and 150% of C.

It has an ingredient I've never seen before though: Hydrolyzed Insulin Syrup. What is that?!? Doesn't sound natural.

Never heard of "Hydrolyzed Insulin Syrup" before. It can't be good for you, anything that has been hydrolyzed or hydrogenated usually isn't healthy.

Just because something has "Healthy" in front of it and has a few vitamins in it doesn't mean it is. The companies are just doing that to market to those who are health conscious and will buy it just because it says it's healthy. Patients bring these type of drinks and health foods into my clinic all the time saying how good they are and when you really look at the ingredients they aren't. You could add those vitamins to any drink and call them healthy but they really aren't. Healthy should mean every aspect of the product promotes health. Hope this answers your question.

It is still best to eat fresh fruits and vegetables to get your vitamins and minerals through. That's "Healthy". If you don't eat them, then consider getting a good multivitamin.

I used to juice all the time. I still have my Juiceman 2 juicer; that thing will juice anything. Problem is I have a very small kitchen now. I know, no excuses

I used to drink alot of milk when I was in high school. Around 2 20oz glasses a day. Now I never drink it. I still get my calcium though. Actually it's funny, our bodies actually get enough calcium from natural foods like fruits and vegetables, but the body uses calcium to digest and process meat, so we need more. A glass of carrot juice has more calcium than a glass of milk.

Redshark,

Milk does do the body good during infancy and through early childhood years. After that milk doesn't benefit us as it has during younger years. If you look at animal and even mammals they don't drink milk past infancy.

The slogan "Milk does the body good" comes from the American Dairy Assoc. and they are promoting their product. Studies have shown that during the teen years the only thing that really builds bone is exercise and has no correlation with milk consumption and or calcium supplements.

I like milk, but don't drink alot.

Coupe2K,

Keep juicing man!

Here's the facts on the calcium content of 1 cup of carrot juice and 1 cup of milk

1 cup of milk has approx. 300mg of calcium
1 cup of carrot juice has 59.63 mg of calcium

Coupe2K,

No problem. There is alot of false information out there. So any time you need to ask about something go ahead!

I prefer a nice cold drink containing a nice mixture of barley and hops. It helps me relax after a hard day selling the damn stuff!
