Well yeah, if important stuff like doors and other essentials are literally gonna fall off, you may need to take care of that first.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

Have you done anything to your suspension yet? If not, go for that. With the extra weight of the larger engine, your car will handle like crap on the stock setup. I think KONI is the only company w/adjustable struts for the X2. These would be key on offsetting the effects of more weight up front. If you are intersted, here are the part #s:

front: 86-2445
rear: 8000-1278

I drive a 92 Excel. I was looking for Konis myself and I emailed Koni North America and said they only offer the front struts and those you have to get from special order Holland. I've searched for a loooong time for sport shocks. Try Koni, but I know Sachs-Boge makes all four. I think.

And if it's safe, I say go for the engine first.

Do you have more info on those Sachs-Boge shocks? I've done some searching and haven't come up with anything that applies to Excels...
