Hi, I hope you can help me (I also posted on Maintenance, I'm almost desperate). I think I've read something about my question somewhere, but just can't find it! Today My Car (1996 Elantra with 56K miles on it) has begun to loose the idle. When ever I'm at a stop, foot off throttle, the tach needle goes up to 1500 - 2000 rpm, then goes back again under 1000 rpm, and it even fades like it's going to stop, but then resumes . Also, when I accelerate and take foot off pedal, it remains accelerated for a sec or so, and then goes down to 1300 rpm, and after to secs or so, it goes down to around 800 rpm again. It's annoying to drive like that I hope it's something not too expensive b/c I wanted to spend money on intake and more mods instead on OEM warn pieces. At the dealership they told me they have to take a close look at it, but it seems to me that means big bucks. Please help me figure what's going on.
Thanks

Thanks for the advise. It's not snowing here in Lima (Peru), our wether varies from 12°C in winter to 30°C (that's 53°F to 86°F). The thing is our humidity range varies from 85% to 99% all the time. Anyways, I'll check the throttle cable, because it could be stucked, dirty or not with enough lube on it. Thanks Brendan.
