I need to know if the end cap on an elantra gt strut tower can be removed and how to go about doing that. Would removing it reveal a strut cartridge? Has anyone here done it and what was the out come?

You must take the three little nuts off the tower and the two lower bolts that hold it to the spindle. Do not take the center nut off before compressing the spring to remove the tension off of the strut. If you don't have a spring compressor then take the strut assembly to a shop that does and have them change out the strut for you. Then just reinstall the strut assmbly..

Your strut is not servicable. You will have to replace the entire strut. I will have some used struts for sale within the month if you are hurting for money and are tired of bouncing down the road :
