I need help.....would anyone know why my brake & battery instrument lights are on?? they stay on at all times and no my brake is not actually applied and this is on a 2001 xg300... thanks.

Battery light is usually on when you have a electrical problem. Usually the Alternator isn't charging. The brake light might be on if the brake fluid level is low in the master cylinder. Or it the brake light might be on cause the e-brake is on. Or it's a posibility the voltage has droped so much that it can't run some things if the alternator isn't charging.

The brake light serves as a master caution light in over 80% of teh cars i've had (from ford tempos to hyundai stellars)

It is usually a sign that the alternator is not making enough power, probably due to a faulty regulator. Hook a volts gauge up to the cig lighter.
