Ok let me start from the begining. In April of this year I was injuryed on the job. In May I had hand surgery to remove a cist. Then in July while in rehab what I thought was another cist came up. So they did a second hand surgery. It turned out to be a gaint blood clout and tendostavitas(sp). Then I went back to rehab two weeks after the surgery. They started me on hand strethes with a rubber band thing. I did my first ten then when I rolled my hand over palm side down. The rubber band was loose so I tightened it a little then when I raised my hand up I heard a pop in my forearm near my elbow. And I was able to lift three of my fingers at all. About four days later I was finally able to move them but I still have pain in that spot. I clue to what it might be? They said it was probably scar tissue but why would I have scar tissue in my forearm from hand surgery?

guiltybydesign,

Sounds like you have had a rough one. Possibly is what a scar breaking, but I highly doubt it!!! You should have been able to move your fingers easier after it happened instead of very little movement. Since the snap occurred in your forearm possibly it was a muscle group tearing or tendon! Do you have a bump in your forearm now? If you do, you tore a muscle. Do you still have pain there? Most likely they were covering their you know whats, when they told you it was scar tissue.

No I don't have a bump. Every now and then I get a little pain in that same spot. But I did notice a new cist or something coming out on the underside on my wrist now. The hurts only when I do certain things.

Get the cyst checked and find out what is causing it. If you need surgery again

you may want to consider getting a different surgeon. So that whatever is causing the cysts is removed this time! The sore area in your forearm sound like a slightly strained/torn muscle.

I feel so bad for you!
When I was 13 I had a cyst in my wrist also!
It hurt so bad before I had it taken out. It became so bad over just a few days, that I could hardly move my fingers at all....
But, after it was taken out..I felt much better...
I was worried that it would come back...but it never did..

Thanks IR2. But I was messing around to see what things make my forearm hurt. It seems to hurt the most when I spread my fingers out and lift them as high as they will go at the same time. The orginal doc told me that with large cist there could be several small ones under it. That they don't see and they will start to come out. The first cist was as big as golf ball or so. And second thing as like 2 and half inch long and about 1/2 inch tall. The new one you can only see when I'm spreading my fingers out but it seems to be on the tendon that is hurting in my upper forearm? You think that is the reason that it's hurting. Also the company will give me a one time lump sum payoff for the injury. Should I take it or should I sue for a lifetime payment of so much per month. I heard that if you win you will have to repay all medical bills and the lawyer. So I may end up with less then the orginal lump sum and suggestions or any experince with this is greatly needed. Thanks.

The new cyst, since it is located on your tendon of that muscle group definately could be causing the pain in your forearm. It's putting an additional stress on those muscles.

As far as what to do with the settlement that has to be up to you. Just a suggestion; long term is always a good choice to make. That way the money will always be coming. Again it still has to be your choice! Weigh all the options and choose the best which will benefit you the most in the long run.

Guilty I feel your pain man...I had one on my forehead and it was the worse pain I could ever imagine. I hope you can find out what is the cause of these cyst and that it is nothing serious.

As Doc said....get a different suergon, when you had the first one removed that should of been it, or at lease you would know the cause of them!

Well guys and gals here is an update. I went to the doctor today and they said that is was probably a toren muscle. They took me off work for two weeks for rest. And to see if it gets better. Also I cant lift my fingers straight up and down anymore. I used to but now I can't he said it was b/c of the swelling and the toren muscle putting pressure on the nerves and stuff. Well I hope it gets better soon but who knows. They are afraid the muscle may continue to tear. They also said that it could take up to 12 weeks for it to heal.
