Well guys, I was close to getting a 2001 celica gt with action package for 22,000$. Now thats expensive to me for that lil car. Then I came across a blue 2001 tiburon and fell in love with it and the price. Even has its own nice lil selection of mods. I'm waiting for the yellow to come in. How do you guys like your rides? I even think the tiburon has a lil bit more balls then the GT. Anyone ever race one? Whats the fastest you got the car up to?
Well looks like I'm going to pick one up next week (forget the over priced celica and eclipse)and pick me up a K&N air filter to start, what mods do you guys recommend?<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Well, I wouldn't get just the [email protected] filter I would go to speedstate.com and order the new bad ass cold air intake, and definitly do the exhaust, my car is loud as hell and it makes the car alot faster. do the header all the way back. get the eibach lowering springs and front and rear strut tower braces,get big rims and low profile tires. i know its alot of money but so worth it I love to drive my car and it handels awesome, and is fast!<img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle>

Hey order a CAI from KORE I would much rather give them my money than have a product no one really trusts because of recall issues the thig had.

Anyone drive with the lowering springs on in the winter? How does it handle? I heard the celica is terrible in snow! How much did those springs lower your car and are they stiff?

Deffinatley go with the KORE Cold air intake.
There intake is probably the best on the market and the customer service and support is great. Also I highly recomend Strut tower braces from SharkRacing.
As far as lowerin and snow I can't help you with that one cause we don't get snow here in south Georgia. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

With respect to the speedstate CAI.. I'm not aware of any recalls?? Unless you mean the AEM bypass valve which is simply an option (that the KORE intake has as well).

I would still go with the KORE CAI.
KORE products are exceptionally good guality and they have done more for Hyundai aftermarket then speedstate ever will.
There are only about two places I recomend and this is KORE and SharkRacing. Never heard any real complaints on either but I have from just about everyone else.
Again these are just my opinions and you should use your own judgement.

I have heard alot about the CAI's...but what kind of difference do they make in the Tiburon auto's and are they hard to install? Im not sure how much a local garage would charge.

A CAI is probably one of the easiest bolt ons you can get. Don't pay someone else to do it.
