scrtdrvr,

I read in another post that you are in the Ashburn area. Let me know if you are, I would like to have a friendly up to speed limit run with you.

Just to let you know what i have, it is nothing much. I have an old 91 SE-R and would like the chance to see how it would do against your tibby (i believe that is what you said you owned). My major mods include a dented right fender and a couple of other dents.

Let me know,

Up to speed limit?
Thats not a race.
If you do not want to hit an all out street race then take it to the track

I don't mind taking it to the race track or on the high way which is about 2 minutes from where i am. I just didn't want to come here and make people think i was trying to start stuff. If scrtdrvr wants we can go out to the track. I live close to Summit Point but i won't be driving my nissan. I would have to bring out the awd for that.

Peace

So what you are saying is you would like to race your sentra up to like 30mph?

Don't be so fawking wishy washy. Either you think your sentra will beat his car or you don't. Either you want to race him or not.

If you are not willing to "waste your time" then why should he with a "up to speed limit" race?

The speed limit in parts of Ashburn is 45 and on the highway it is the usual 55-65mph. Look i don't want to start the my car will kill his car stuff b/c we both know what that will start. I just want to know how well his car will hang with my or mine with his. Plus i think that by 60mph you can generally tell who would win unless the cars are very evenly matched and i dont think these two are.

Personally, I think the tiburon would win in a 0-45 mph race. Equal Drivers perpective.

what are the specs on a current tiburon? I saw something like 140hp, 133ft/lb.

That is about what my sentra is but i believe my car weighs much less not sure my car weighs approx 2300 lbs.

Well then taking it to the track would not be a waste of time.

The point is 0-60 there will not be a whole lot of difference.

0-60 not much difference? I read something on msn that said the tiburon 01 was like 8.4 mine is listed as 7.6 but that is all paper and not real world. but i believe i consistently hit 0-60 in the 7.0 area b/c i can beat an Si easily and edge out a GSR

your car has exactly the same stats + weighs in at 2414lbs accroding to MSN carpoint.
tiburon (2001) weighs in at 2633lbs.

this should be a close race. unless one driver is really fat and the other skinny as heck!!

When I had my tib I could beat civic Si's but I never raced a GSR in it.
But my point is that if you want a REAL race then either take it to the track or find yourselves a nice 1/4 mile strip somewhere and go all out. Otherwise you are wasting your time.

here is where i got the specs for the Sentra SE-R '91-'94. http://se-r.net/about/sentra_se-r/specs.html
Keep in mind though that these are just specs not real world. I believe that i am hitting the 0-60 in the area of at least 7.4sec. This based on the fact that I can out accellerate a '00 SI from 0-60 as well as a CRX-hybrid(with a DOHC ZC motor).
