I hear you can get an adaptor to hook your PC up to the car. Does anyone know which one to get?

Would it be better to buy a full OBD2 scanner?

Yea, autozone or places like schucks will do it for free. Why buy one, not inless you work on cars all the time. The readers that they use even tell you what sensor is the root cause, not just the code.

If you erace the codes then start the car and the engine light comes on right away it's your front o2 sensor.( the heater part of it) the 2 white wires

I bought a EMS 323 Code reader of E-bay for $40.00 that plugs into the OBD port on the car and plugs into a laptop. Was the best $40.00 I have spent on my car. And yes the software will tell you what the code means...

e.g.
P1124-Lean code(Manufacture Specific Code)
-Check O2 sensor>Click to test<
-Check MAF>Click to test<
