i plan on getign 2k accent and doing the swap.....how safe is it? .....what problems may i expirience after the installation

A problem you might run into is weak axles if you keep the stock Accent axles, other than that it's a pretty safe, straightforward swap.

You can swap in the Tiburon axles, but you might need to get them shortened a few mm.

We'll have more info on this once we perform the swap ourselves.

Hey you guys I have a 2001 Accent with a Sohc 1.5. I would like to know if ALL 4 mounts line up.
2. Does the intake have enough space ?? Or does it hit the firewall??
3. Does the tranny off the tib or the elantra line up with the 3 mounts ??
4. There were some pics on this site about a 2.0 in a Accent but I cannot find them anymore. Any ideas or possibly the URL for the pics?? <img src=/images/forums/snitz/cool.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

You will have to do a slight modification to the front engine mount do to thickness but it should line up. You will also have to shorten the drive shaft by a few milimeters. Then install either the Tib ECU or a piggyback. <img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

actually, I think someone said that that wasn't the case for the LC (2000+) Accents, that everything basically fits, since they used our car for the rally spec Accent. So yeah, prolly only weak axles would be the problem!<img src=/images/forums/snitz/wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>
