We've kinda made fun on one guy already because he asked this type of question. It's possible but you are looking at alot of $$$ and months without your car. I agree that it would be cool but...<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

what is funny about this post is a 350 shot is not a realistic number for any car. even v8s don't run this much nitrous. i've seen crx's that are running a gsr swap running a 150 shot and running a 11.7. you wouldn't need that much nitrous to compete with turbo car just a well blueprinted engine and a lot of cash. if you really wanted to do it with the 1.6 then get an adjustable ignition, some nice low compression pistons, forged rods, some cams/gears, and you could run a dual stage direct port 50 to 150 and run probably in the mid to high 13s(being that your tranny/clutch, suspension and tires were still in tact) and it is possible to get these parts somebody needs to make them for you with the right $ tag. i personally like the all motor street classes. i was watching an event yesterday where the daily driven all motor cars(4 cylinders) were going at it running high 12s and low 13s. That is more of a feat than any turbo/ supercharger/ nitrous car will be in my book.

its my girl's car

if 350 isnt realistic why would they bother to sell 1000 shot kits?

but yeah about the other things, thanks for the info on what internals need to pumped etc, etc, but they seriously do make 1000 shot kits, so im thinking a 350 shot wouldnt be too out fo the question for a four banger

like I said b4... you need alot of cash... and to be an engineer of have a team or sumthing... I don't think you understand the fact that that much instataneous power going through a motor will most likely shred it to peices... and if it does hold, you tires will prolly melt right there... maybe the do sell 1000 shots but that's prolly to fly a rocket to the moon... you have to understand the complexity of NOS.

The bigger shots of nitrous are used with methane for the nitro-methane funny cars. From what i heard, a 50 shot will run all day on a stock motor, so a 150 shot wouldn't be that hard to do, you just need to make sure you get enough fuel. Nitrous acts like its own safety device, when n20 is combusted, the extra power comes from the extra oxygen in the cylinder, the 2 nitrogen atoms actually cool the intake chamber. As long as you have enough fuel, and a really good ingnition, you should be fine.

A message to the honda camp, we're coming.

You could run the 150 shot with a proper nitrous controler that feeds the Nitrous in slowly based on RPM. You would still need to strengthen the Fuel pump/injectors/internals/Tranny/clutch to handle an extra 150 HP...but it is do-able.

The question is...how much do you have to spend?

350!!! ok lets get this straight, with out lots of MAJOR work you stay 35-50% hp increase over your stock power out put, after that you need rods, pistons, cryo forged drive shaft etc etc. 100 hp more is ALOT more than 50 or ever 65 or 75. No there is no practical way to get a 100 shot in a 1.6. And if you are reading the honda boards, remember those 100 shot hondas get new motors ever 5-10 runs. THEY DIDN'T TELL YA THAT DID THEY. Most v8's do 250 shots with lots of work on them and they to blow up, actually I have a 3.1L grand am blow their motor on a 55 shot so motor size almost is not issue with how big a shot it can take. It's the motor and work done to it. ow if you go nitrous play safe and stay with in 50 hp please, I don't want to see another blown motor cause you thought it could be done.
