The factory alarm came with my car and I wanted to install the remote start feature. I was told that the alarm needed an output of some kind to hook up the remote start. Do any of you know if there is?

What brand of remote starter are you planning on using? I just installed mine in a 97 accent w/AT. Real easy to install. Just a few wires. Mine does not have alarm, but most remote starters will have the wire to temp disable the alarm to start car. Others req a seperate purchase of some module thing. If you can hook up a radio then you can do this. Only special tools needed was a 12v meter. I picked mine up on sale at (dont laugh) Kmart for like 45 bucks for the remote starter. 1.5hrs to install.

Well, I was just told that I needed to tap into the alarm box to work with it. I'm not sure what system they are going to install. I don't think I want to mess with all that stuff myself so I don't screw anything up.
