What does the Hyundai factory alarm prewire include? All I can see right now is the little light on the steering column. Would it be best to have the rest installed by Hyundai or go ahead and have another alarm installed? I want to eventually get the remote start too.

scrtdrvr - I plan on putting a remote start in my car. I figured out the only reason your car WILL NOT start with out the clutch in, is a small pressure switch behind the clutch pedal. Soo as I figure out how to bypass it I'll pass on the info.

it's easy to bypass the clutch, all you need is a relay and that's it.. if you want detail instructions let me know..

Before you add the remote start to a 5-speed though, make damn sure you get in the habit of parking with your car in neutral. Either that or you'll need to hook up sensors to first gear (if that's what you leave it parked in) that won't let the car start if its in gear.

One of my buddy's had remote start on his 5-speed GS-R and when he took it to a body shop to get painted, they remote started it with the car in 1st gear. It lurched forward and hit a telephone pole.

there are remote engine starters for 5 speeds, they are sequence type, these are much more safer

Hey guys...ALWAYS park your car in Neutral. Why on earth do people park them in gear anyway? The E brake will hold the car from moving anywhere, even if it's hit. Make sure the brake works and is adjusted correctly! Another little thing, "riding the clutch" is not only when you're doing something like keeping a car from rolling back on a hill- It's ALSO anytime the clutch pedal is pressed down and kept there. There's still force on the springs of the pressure plate. Obviously, if you're at the start line of a race, this doesn't matter-hold it down anyway of course. However, if waiting at a red light, keep that puppy in N. No purpose in sitting there with it in gear. <img src=/images/forums/snitz/cool.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

Hello, I install remote starters. There are a few models that you have to get out of the car with it running , then you shut it off with the remote. That garantees its in nuetral. I have a nice two way system by compustar.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

hey guys in regars to the 5 speed starter
i have a clifford g4 alarm with intelli start


in my 5speed i have to hit a button in my car before i turn it off and it does a system ceck making sure its in nuetral and parking brake is on.. then i would tunr off my car then hit another button to start it..
