The subject makes sense once you read what follows.

Last night on my way home from work my driver was riding with me(dominos pizza). Was going 64 in a 40 zone. The cop was heading in the opposite direction and spotted me but he was in the slow lane and had to stop and wait for cars to pass before he could come around. I turned sharp off the main road and then in behind a car wash. Thought I had gotten away with it when the cop came right up behind me, apparently thats a popular spot for people to hide when avoiding cops like me.

He came running up with a gun shouting to raise my hands and accusing me of trying to avoid him. We had just came from work so I lied and continually told him I had been turning around to head back to the store because I was training my driver and he had forgotten to call in the numbers.

Anyways, he called me a liar, I stuck to my story. I think he realized I could goto the office and press charges for waving his gun like that because he dropped my speeding ticket down to 56 in a 40 keeping me from the 20 over fines. As he handed me the ticket he asked if I was the manager. I said yes(which I am) and then he said "I hope your drivers don't drive as fast as you!" I had to smirk because I know the guy in my passenger seat loves to speed faster than me in his camry.

All in all...guess I got lucky. My car won't be speeding anymore, not worth the tickets. Thats the problem with mod'ing my car, I naturally want to drive it faster.

matter of fact, if the "po po" didnt have just cause to pull a gun, he could get suspended for doing so. take it to court, and file emotional charges or something, sue the city, and then buy all of us H.P. people the new gauges from Kore! hehe just a thought hehehe

Man dominos was a hard life, doing 120 in 40 zones, taking back roads to avoid the cops, paying off cops with free pizza ( yes it does work ), being chased many a time but NEVER in 2 years did one pull a gun. Sue his hyper ass, oh well he droped the fine ok don't sue .

how the hell could he get your speed on the gun if he was traveling in the opposite direction.

It is easy to get your speed on radar when going in the opposite direction.

The point of the matter is that you were evaiding no matter what your story was. He knew and you knew it. He pulled the gun cause he did not know for sure why you were evaiding. You could have been a drug dealer or a wanted criminal. No matter what you turned yourself into something other than a routine traffic stop. My sugestion to you is just to pay the fine and be thankful that he did drop the fine down and did not add other charges to the fine.

I love PA cause cops cant use their radar while they are moving. So all they can really get u for is too fast for conditions, which is only in effect when its raining or snowing or something like that

There's a lot of misconceptions in this thread regarding law enforcement.

Now Paige, although you might just be a normal person, not some crazed wanted criminal, the cop had full cause to pull out his gun. Listen to it from a cops perspective...you see a car speeding, you have to wait to turn around to follow them. While you're waiting to turn around, you lose site of them, and don't know what's going on in the interior (could be pulling a gun out of the glovebox, their coat, whatever). Now, you get turned around, and they've ducked in behind a carwash (essentially a dark, secluded place). You see now, there's two people in the car. You're outnumbered, secluded, and maybe they only turned off to draw you into an area where they could shoot you before you discover that they have warrants out for their arrest for a greater crime than speeding. Everytime you pull someone over, you never know what you're going to get. Now in Canada, I'd take it more easy than that, only because there are mountains of paperwork to fill out anytime your hand goes anywhere near your gun, plus the occurances of pull-over suspects with guns here are very rare.

To those who asked how he got your speed travelling the other way...welcome to 10 years ago. There are multiple types of radar guns. The most common are those that are handheld, and require you to be stopped. The moving radar that a lot of police cars are equipped with now however, are mounted directly on the cruisers, cover front and back, moving or still, and can go through cars, ie. if I'm behind you tracking your speed, I can hit a button and the radar will now start tracking the speed of the car ahead of you, do it again and I'm at the car two ahead of you.

Technology is a wonderful thing.
