Hey everyone! i am so glade i've found this site!! i need help modifiying my '88 Excel. so far i've got a K&N Filter, and a performance muffler, does anybody know of some other things i can put on my car, like headers, turbo, new carberator??? Just anything that will make it go faster so i can beat those Freekin Honduhs! Thanx!! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

It doesn't take much to beat those pieces of crap. But two suggestions turbo and NOS will be a big help.

I wasn't kidding... but for starters (if you are on a tight budget), start with intake and exhaust, these are two basic mods that will give you some extra hp.

Dude the most bang for your buck would be nitrous, even though it runs out. Your Excel doesn't have that many ponies to begin with which means your gonna have to spend a bit.
I had a 90 Excel and it had about 81 horsepower, I think. Not trying to discourage you but I think you should be aware of what you're getting into.

Yah i know what i am getting into! It is possible tor get some decent power out of this car, i hope! oh and i was just wondering what kind of intake should i get? like ram air? and will it fit to my stock intake or air breather? And does lowering the car improve performance much?

hey man ill fix u up. www.dragonintakes.com has cold air system that might fit your ride. Get a custom catback system 2.5 inch with a dual tip muffler... www.speedandstyle.com or www.spoilerdirect.com or anything along universal line .rob knows and so does hyundai4gt were to get turboed. if your going to get NOS. Get venom or Zex. www.venom-performance.com or www.speedstate.com... do some weight reduction get some wider tires and some strut bars. www.sharkracing.com ( you wont need headers if you get turbo) make sure you get CAI= COld AIR Intake if they make it for you car I hope they do because a light car such as yours CAN be quick if you fix it up right. oh yeah dont order from www.hdkmotorsports.com they have shitty service sometimes. Hey i was talking to some people in another topic area and they were saying for me to put a Mitsubishi engine in my car. Well the idea sounds great, but is it possibe, would it be worth it, and would it be fast? If anyone knows please let me know! Oh and also wich engine would be best for my car?

putting a mistu engine would be ideal for turbo unsing the older model engines would probably be your best bet, ask Hyundai4gt hes good with the turbos
