Is this even a possibility? I want everything that the korean model has (silver trim, heated seats, climate control, strut bar, tuscani logos, center dash gauges...) that the American model lacks. I figure by the time I go and spend the money to have that stuff done to the '03 Tib, there might be a possibility <img src=/images/forums/snitz/uhh.gif width=15 height=15 border=0> . I don't know if it would make it any easier that my mom works for a hyundai dealer. I don't even know what the cost is over there for the korean model. any thoughts?

Besides, the Tuscani is slower.

I agree with Rob, I thought that importing the tuscani would be a reasonable decision, but after hearing some of the regulations and costs that you need to go through, I decided it wasnt all that great. You would be much better off just buying the extra stuffs and putting them in. The tuscani badges are available already, the silver lights would be easy to get, the door handle and fuel door too, tuscani aluminum door sills, passenger side cup holders, strut bar, but the things that would be difficult to get is the heated seats, auto climate, hands free phone system, TCS, those missing buttons and the wirings behind them..... <img src=/images/forums/snitz/disapprove.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

I agree what 4doorGL and Concept said except, it's the same engine in Korea too why is it slower? 'cause of amendities? haha.. well it says 175ps, but by doing a conversion to hp, it should match close to 181hp here..

Thanks, but i'm still gonna have my mom talk to the hyundai rep when he comes into the dealership to see if he knows anything about these accessiores... I know with the santa fe, they introduced the extra features on the second year's model.

Well also remember, that nice 10 year warranty that you guys down there in the US have. Well that 10 year warranty turns into a 0 yes zero year warranty. We tried bringing a 5-speed Sonata into Canada from the US, and you can kiss your warranty good bye, which is probally the best reason for buying a new car.

Those accessories you can get from HDK if you are willing to guess whether you can get that stuff ordered by them. But heated seats isn't a big deal and can buy the hardware from any rather large accessory shop, except the buttons you can import from Korea since its pretty well open for anyone. The climate control you can import probally from Korea too, because thats what HDK does for some of the other models. Strut bar, just buy from Kore or Sharkracing and save your money on overseas shipping costs.

Same power and performance on the Tuscani as the North American Tiburon. Now if you imported from Europe it would be a different story.

So why spend the extra thousands on shipping, then duty and god knows how many other taxes and go to your local dealership and pick up a GT V6 (GS-R) and put those accessories in yourself.

I will be DEFINATELY doing the heated seats and auto climate myself or pay someone whatever. The strut bar is gonna be the step after I work on the engine performance for myself. <img src=/images/forums/snitz/wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

Hey... maybe if Hyundai just thought a little bit more and actually gave the US market a chance, the car would be worth it... this coming from someone who can get it nearly at cost! Maybe the Hyundai Rep can have some influence on what comes out with next year's model... He's pretty cool to talk with.
