Too bad you didn't post here before you bought the speakers. I've got 2 JL 12W3's new-in-the-box that I've been trying to sell. I bought three from a guy because he would only sell me all three, not just one. I only needed one, so the other two are for sale.

It all depends on how much cash you are willing to put into an amp. Orion makes some killer amps that would jam the hell out of your JL's, but the are rather expensive. If you want to go cheap and still have good sound, go with a Fosgate or even Cadence. Jl's amps are quite expensive as well and if you give them a few more years on the market, their prices will drop a few bucks.

well there isn't really a good amp anymore. But if you want juck then get orion, rockford that kind of junk. Because orion has always been junk and will stay that way. Kicker and DEI are you best bets. It you want to spend a little more money go for Eclipse!

not quite sure what your problem is but no Orion is not junk. The HCCA line is some of the best equipment on the market! Maybe you had a bad experience with an older orion or fosgate amp but DON'T ruin it for others!!!!!!

Well i've never bought orion. I've just never liked the sound they produce. Everyone will have their own opinions on stereo equipment. Because what sounds good to them might not sound good to me. And if you look at all the companies they produces anything. They aways say something great. Just get what you want to pay for. Just remember what ever you spend it what it's gonna sound like. I just wish Image would make an amp. But we all know Rockford isn't what they use to be. They are on the JVC (Junk Very Cheap) level now. I've lost all respect for them.

i have 2 12" w3s & im running a memphis 1100D, & it rocks. Im getting another w3 & adding it. My friend is running his at .66 ohm & it works constantly & never overheats. I love the memphis amps, u can get 1 for around $400 if u get a good deal, whereas the orions will cost 600 to 700. A friend & i tested the a memphis 4 channel against an orion 4 channel that had around the same watts per channel, & the memphis was louder & had more separation. For the money, i would go memphis

I find it hillarious that all my friends that buy stuff for their honda tell me to take their advice on performance parts, cause they know what theyre doing. All i can ever think is, U DRIVE A HONDA!!!!

The new rockford amps(2001+) are not good at all. Pre 2001 fosgate amps were good, however, their new shielding design isn't good at all. You will be able to hear car noise comming from these amps.

I just got a new JL 500/5 amp. Alls I can say is that JL did real good in the design of their new amps. My **** is kick ass and sounds very clear. I highly recommend you look into the JL's.

and that last sentence is the key. The best amp for you is what you want. They all do the exact same thing, give or take a little distortion, a few features and a LOT of price. Some are worse than others, but the rest of the install has so much more to do with the sound than the amps, it isn't even funny.

and if you have noise, it's not coming from a functional amp.

okay db comp and clarity comp are too totally diffenent comps ....me personally i like clarity ....so a sub that can play 50 htz reall loud does nothing for me....i want full range of music 20-22000 htz i dont know about the rest of you. then it depends of what kind of music you listen too....i go from hip-hop to rock to classical back to trance and bass and drum....just all depends
