the excel is my beautiful disaster...i removed the stock 8V9G 1.5 litre mitsu engine in '99 when i first acquired the car (its my second car) and found that it was, as most of the smaller mitsys are, a total roach, granted it will kill a civic lunchbox in numbers, the motor had to go, with a failing oil system and shot head gasket and all....i acquired the 4G63TI from a friend with a '92 eclipse GS-t for about 2 grand...the motor needed a few things, such as a new turbo (the old one was all but incinerated internally) so i opted for the turbonetics unit, cheezed a lil more and put on a BOV (you cant beat that sound)...the tranny came from the same GS-t at no charge.....the other options i put on as time progressed....next year the excel (which has been my secondary, yet more potent whip) will be registered to compete in the SCCA production GT 2WD class ProRally, as i am well on my way to putting my elantra into the 13's.

You should be of assistance to some other Excel owners then. A lot of them have been talking about doing this similar swap.

You should make a post in the Accent/Excel/S-Coupe forum about the swap, so people know who to direct their questions too.
