Lowered over 17's

934 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  4doorGL
New on the list and lost in Kentucky. I have 01gs, I have 17X6 on it and want to lower the car, I have the springs but the wheels rub occasionaly with stock suspension and I am worried they will rub alot with the drop springs. Has anyone lowered their GS with wheels that big. Will I just have to roll the inner fender lip?<img src=/images/forums/snitz/approve.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

i thoguht rubbing occured because of the width of the tire and it didnt matter if you had your car slammed or riding stock height?

I have 17's with about a 2 inch drop! No real rubbing...except on real tight fast turns! I have 40/205/17 series tires too by the way!

It depends more on the proper offset than on the width and size of the rim/tire. I forget, but I believe the proper offset is +43mm.
