It will for almost 5000 km then instantly it comes back. it fixes it in warm weather but it appears when the tranny is cold. believe me I had it done.. Waist of time.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/cool.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

This wouldn't happen to be the Mitsubishi synchro kit would it? And just what exactly is in this syncro kit?

Not sure whats actually comes in the kit I think it is just a better than stock synchros. Not too sure it works but than it doesn't. Not worth the time. If you ask me. I will try to find out from the local dealer exactly what it is.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/cool.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

just got back from my dealership. Theres certainly a difference. No more grinding and know you can smoothly downshift into 1st. Worth all the time if you ask me. I asked the dealership they said its just better quality than the stock ones. But i also got all the gears replaced and for free so hell if you call $800 of work done free a waste of time. you must have issues.
Definately worth the trouble.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0><img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0><img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0><img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

I think this may be what mine is getting...

Do you have anymore information on this kit? On the problems that caused the dealer to go this route?

The dealer gave me a choice they said there wasn't anything really wrong witht he tranny thats its just how most of the are made but he gave me the choice to install it to help out witht the shifting.

All you gotta do is make your voice heard. Hell the dealership will do whatever you want. They were the ones that screwed up!<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0><img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

No go get it, worth the $800 well worth it for a bit. Dont get me wrong it is better for the beginning then it stops just like before. ITs a common problem mine has had it done twice. Keep replacing all the gears and the better than stock sychros but then after 5000kms its back. Its better if you live where its warm. In the summer it works a million times better but in the winter its a million times worst. Remember I live in Canada its cold here, so maybe it fixed you up. But its sure didn't with me. And not all dealers have to fix the issue as the stock tranny is not broken it just sucks.
Mine is on a 2000 accent gsi by the way.

I saw that after posting. Good luck with it. Maybe yours will work but mine sure as hell didn't. Its fine in the nice weather. ie 2-5degrees below freezing or when its warm but after that if its really cold or your driving like a granny she grinds. I also find if you rev it higher in the spectrum it goes away. ie faster than 20km/h or 2500rpm from 1st to 2nd it works much better. but if your less, trying to save fuel or whatever she grinds. The kit however did fix the shift from 2nd to 3rd now that never grinds but still. I have had the tranny looked at 4times. All the mechanics agreed it is a factory defect that is not going away.. Trying right now to have them replace the tranny which they are in the works to doing.
