2K1 Accent GL. I want to do a kustom intake on the ride but my buddy says I don't have a mass air sensor? Is this true, and if so, can I still put an intake on it?<img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle>

Yes, you do have a MAF sensor and you can put on a CAI. Although, if you want to run it behind the front fender you may have trouble if it's an automatic.

IF you have enough money ($189-$219)buy one already made!
Here's a link for a CAI made for the Accent by KORE

Go to the application list to see prices and colors available.

Here's link to what they look like

-both have CAI's as well.

2001 gl has the 1.6 so it doesn't have a maf sensor, it has a map sensor like a honda and you can make a civic intake work, the kore will work, maf sensor or not and will relocate the filter in the fenderwell.

yes you do have a maf sensor it is that skinny black thing going into your stock box. the civic intake will not be worth it if you have the 1.5. if you have a maunual transmission then you should go with the kore cold air intake. with an automatic 1.5 then you will run into problems like i have with my girlfriends. the current setup i'm using on hers is a 2.5 inch pipe to the maf, which cuts restriction and eliminates the resonator, that goes into the stock box with a [email protected] pannel filter. the lower portion of the box then goes into a 3inch pipe which i fed down behind the front bumper. works well. the only other mod i'm going to do to this is plug in a tib/lantra maf sensor to cut down restriction even more. i will try to get some pics posted.
