I have a 2000 Sonata, 4 cylinder that I brought to the shop due to check engine light being on. Was told the mass airflow was bad and to replace is over $600.00. The vehicle currently runs fine. Is this a neccessary repair or a do it yourself? Any help would be appreciated.

Take your car to an Autozone or something and have them read your CEL for you. They'll tell you the exact code and a description of it..post those here.

Plus, yeah they are qute easy to install, even an old carburator man like me can do taht!
