Has anyone else heard the rumor that our engine is the same engine as a eclipse 2.0.The cams I ordered are high performance cams but are from a mitsubishi turbo galant and machined to 240 degrees of lift. A guy at the dealer has an eclipse and said his engine is almost identical when side by side with the beta engine.May this is why they take to turbos so well..?

The only thing in common between the 4G63 and G4GF are that they are 4-cylinders, and they both have a 4 and a G in them somewhere.

Other than there they're different. Headers and intake manifolds ARE NOT interchangeable. Cams ARE NOT interchangeable and are driven in two completely different manners. Bore and stroke is different. The crank is different. And so on and so forth....

The reason the Beta motor handles boost so well is due to it's head design, not that it looks like an Eclipse engine.

Well the SHO's engine was designed by yamaha, but I think built by FORD.

The SHO has a FORD Engine, designed by Ford, but ASSEMBELED by Yahamama. They have the ability to basically blueprint the engine(Assemble the engine to as close to spec as possible), something that a detroit assembly line could not do.

Yammie also assembles a lot of Toyota/Lexus Motors, and some are Yahamama(old MR2)

Leave it to Random to Needlessly complicate things.
