Got my oil changed last week at the dealership. Popped the hood today to put washing fluid in, noticed that I have no oil filler cap. Took it instantly to dealership and the mechanic was like "I swear I put one on there, maybe the pressure blew it off". But anyways they replaced it for free, just makes me mad, if I was to go on a long trip it could have ruined my engine

Dude...if there was oil splattered all over, I would of made them steam clean the engine for free. ESPECIALLY if you have your engine all done up and painted and stuff.

LOL! The only way that would happen is if you had a hole in 2 pistons, and the PCV system was clogged solid! That probably wouldn't even break the cap off, It'd just pour oil out of your seals! They probably had the lot boy doing mechanic work!

A friend of mine went to the gas station and they forgot to put the gas cap back on. Good thing it has a cap built into the nozzle where it can only be opened by the gas pump or something else poking into it. I always get out after the attendant (Thats right, we have gas attendants here in NJ because they think we are going to blow ourselves up) is finished to make sure my cap is tight or the engine light comes on. Some people are just careless. Just like the moron who took the pump out of the tank and spilled gas on the side of my car. Now talk about stupid...I was standing right there washing the windows. I yelled at him....didn't do any good. Washed it off when I got home.

I knew how to change oil when I was 7 years old, no joke. I didn't think that pressure could pop it off, the guy that changed my oil said I have a sweet car during oil change and again today

I was about 15 when I learned how to change oil, cougart. Pressure popping off the cap? Thats a load of bullshit. Good thing you caught that in time. Oil in a engine is like blood in a human. You die without it. You literally bleed to death.

Lantra, if you have a good coat of wax on the outside of your car, then the gas spill shouldn't do anything. The problem was when he spilled it on mine, I had just stripped the wax off the car...I was washing it beforehand and I realized that I needed to buy a clay bar...and then filled the tank up on the way home. So it could have done damage to mine...But I got lucky. Sometimes it will leave a yellow residue.
