BTW, it's on Pg. 64. Some interesting numbers - Weight (GT V6 M6) - 3023lbs (it's gained 100 lbs?)., 0-60 in 8.0 secs (est.), mpg - 18/26, 181hp/177tq.

BTW, I won't be able to scan it until I'm at work tommorrow.

As for 8 secs 0-60 being wrong, ~8 secs sounds about right to me considering the power-to-weight ratio (similar to the current Tib), and gearing. But the 1/4 mile time should be much lower than the i4 Tib, and it will do considerably better on the highway with the V6. Remember, it's not a sports car, it's more of a "Grand Tourer".

But overall, the new Tib seems to be quite an improvent. If I hadn't found an incredible deal on an LS1, I'd definitely be in a new Tib right now.

I heard that cars can go faster after you use them a while.. that true?

Sort of. I've seen magazines do reports on this, and after some miles have been put on the engine, things just sort of "settle in" (trying to give the simplest explanation), yielding better performance. Nothing major, just maybe a few tenths off the 1/4 et. or 0-60.

My car is a good example. Our engines usually take almost 10k miles to really get broken in, and you WILL feel the car getting "stronger" as you drive it longer.

I wouldn't doubt the comment about the exhaust. From the pictures I've seen, it looks very restrictive. Airbox looks restrictive, too. So with I/E, I'd guess an extra 20 peak hp (or more) is possible.

noob here

what is I/E...wait, intake and exhaust? and I got another noob question...

for a supercharger, is it a bolt that you just put in, or does it require minor hack and paste?

Also, is it a good idea to break in a vehicle with mods, or mod after you break it in?

Thanks for the help.

0-60 times are not as accurate as time over distance ( 1/4 mile for instance) when comparing speed between cars. They can be a little deceptive too. You can actually be behind another car even though you've reached 60 before it. I can
already feel some of you doing this ....so heres an example:
Your car has a soft off-idle acceleration, doesn't really pull hard off the line. The other car your racing has better low-end torque and pulls better from the get
go. Your car is initially behind but starts to pull on the other one, reaches 60 a few tenths before the other car but has not yet pulled even. If you freeze-framed the race at that moment your car is slightly behind, but your 0-60 time is actually better. If you pull past before the 1/4 mile mark THEN you could be sure that your car was faster...in the 1/4 mile at least.
Look at a variety of cars that do, say, exactly 16 flat in the 1/4 mile...the 0-60 times will be fairly close, but may still vary a few tenths...even a half second. The new Tib MAY have an 8 flat 0-60, (probably 7.7 after proper break-in) but that could still mean 15.7 1/4 mile...not too shabby.

Well regardless of what anyone says...

The Tiburon will win its race off the line, or forget about it.

Though remember from 0-100km/h (0-60 mph) you will have to shift twice in the 6-speed.

Cars with a 5-speed transmission will only shift usually once. Therefore that 0.3 seconds or whatever it takes you to shift will make a difference.

Thing is though, when your running down the 1/4 I think the 6-speed will be picking up more ground then the 5-speed version once your past 90-100 km/h.

Can't wait till a GT 5-speed and GT 6-speed hit the red lights together. Should be very interesting.

(little side note. I think the 6-speed with a twin turbo setup that may have a bit of lag but overall a lot of power would be sweet as hell from what I heard from intial test drives of the 6-speed)

I think your right smiley, what the tib loses in the 0-60 will surely gain in the 1/4mile..

Wait a second, shift 2 times? Most six speeds have the 6th gear more for a "overdrive" and higher top end speed, on most manual transmission,to include 6-speeds, second gear will always take you to around 60mph. Auto manufacturers do this on purpose to offer a better 0-60 time as that is what so many people look at. True it would be better for your 1/4mile time to have a proportional second gear but this usually not the case.

If i have another civic with a 2' spoiler and fart can come up and rev on me i am gonna laugh so hard that his exhaust will quit rattling.
