Well, I got my car back a while ago... besides the airbag on, and the stereo system going nuts... my check engine light came on last night as I started my car, put it in first and started to go... well, kinda... the car jumped a little, and there was my motor sounded really funny, MASSIVE loss of performance... and when I sit still it idles weird, and the needle bounces around the 1000 mark.... but I changed the spark plugs and everything... took it to the shop, and they have no idea.... WHATS WRONG WITH MY CAR?!?!

Unplug the battery terminals for a minute I have heard that you should touch the cables together and I have heard it is not necesary but I always do.(They are in my hands and it doesn't hurt any thing so why not.)

Check your air filter
Check your wires
Check your fuel filter

If that does not work then check your compression.

Get back with me tonight on AIM if none of that works.

Mouse, I deleted your reply because it is not a time to joke around when someone is upset about their car.

Drew, try AUTOBOTs idea. I was going to suggest that one myself. Change all what he said and then check the compression. In addition, check to see if you are leaking any fluids.

Hope everything works out for you.

382, thanx man... they "fixed" my car, but didn't fix the damn thing. I went into the shop for a new flywheel, came out with a new flywheel, new gear ring, new starter, new clutch [they took out my stage 2 clutch cuz they are assholes] then when I got it back, my car makes bird bleeping sounds when the head unit is on, the airbag light is on, and this problem.... how can someone royally fvck up someone's car like that, then I took it back and they said they DONT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. No, they didnt hook it up to anything, I don't think they have one of them... but yeah, I'm pretty pissed, and wanted to know how to check compression... compression of what?? thanx

I checked the timing belt... its not TIGHT, but its not loose, looks like it came off one tooth or something... also, I found a wire thats NOT connected to anything... and I took a couple pictures... one of the wire, and one where the wire comes out of... here goes:

any ideas anyone??
First pic is of the wire... the second is where it comes from... but this isnt whats making my car slow... I know that much, but wish to know what this sensor is... and what is making my car sooo slugish

I'm not sure if it's the entire cause...but I believe the wire you pictured is a sensor related to the coolant/engine temp. Look at the big radiatior hose (not the main upper one) and where the big metal piece that connects to the motor. You'll see a little flat metal prong sticking out. That's where that wire goes.

Also try the plug wires. After that...bring it back to the shop and make them do WHATEVER IT TAKES to fix it. Even if THEY have to bring it to the Hyundai dealership and pay to fix it. If they broke it, they are reliable.
