Hey can u relocate the batterie to the trunk and run a big intake down through the bodie and out the splash guard (plastic extension of the fender well that holds the side of the bumper in place) and place an air dam on the end. Or would i have to cut the frame to do it.

My name is Bond, James Bond.

You could relocate the battery and do it, but you are going to have a fun time doing it. To get the the fender well you would most likely have to cut or widen a hole in the assembly right below the battery. Your best bet would be to check out the intakes that are out there now. You have to remember that no matter how big your intake is, it still get's desized by the MAFS part. Mainly what you want the CAI to do is just that, get colder air.

You can do that. Move the battery to the trunk in the passenger side corner. (make sure it is in a sealed/vented box), then run a cai through that hole. If you use a 6" piece of silocone, you can get it through that hole and it will take up the full space and not lose MUCH diameter in the process, but enlarging the hole would be the better option for air flow. That would put your air filter in the most protected part of the fenderwell, and Hydrolock would never be a problem. I do reccomend that you still heatwrap the porton of the intake that is in the engine bay though.

Leave it to Random to Needlessly complicate things.

What other issues are there for battery relocation? Is there a kit with a protective jacket to put on (with a vent?)

I've seen too many batteries explode to want one in my trunk without proper protection. And believe me, you do not want to have to clean that crap up (it is nasty).

I'm interested in this, since as a Revision A tib, I have fewer options for CAI. Plus with the turbo coming eventually, it would be nice to have some extra space.

thanks,
a

EDIT: Pelaoperformance - This thread is over 3 years old. Stop trying to increase your post count. To make this bump worthwhile, here's what I did.

I didn't move my battery to the trunk. I just rotated the battery tray 90 degrees to make room. I'm running the intake down, through the splash guard, and to the foglight.

EDIT: Just realized you're working on a Tib, but you could probably do something similar.

thanks... i definatly noticed an increase with moving the filter down there.... honestly, i haven't noticed any difference with the fog light cover removed vs installed, but i still remove it when i race, just incase...

the gound cable runs from the block to the upper radiator support... i didn't install it for horsepower... most cars are short on grounds from the factory (caddys are really bad), so it doesn't hurt to add... i also have one running from the block to the firewall... you can get them from summit for next to nothing....
