Congrats! You got a good deal. Any clue as to miles?
sweet. he's right that is an awesome deal for a beta especially with a PS pump. I didn't get a ps pump but i don't think im gonna get one either. its not that bad without it. good luck. have fun. AND #1!!!! DON'T GET DISCOURAGED!
impatience is in me now and i got the craving to pop open the hod and start disconnecting everything,

here's what i know so far about the Swap,

unconnect all connector's and loosen all hose's, drain necessary fluids, unbolt Motor mount's holding engine on chassis, remove battery and tray, remove radiator, unhook throttle cables, remove transaxle from engine but take off front wheel's and brake's before i do anything else

as for passenger mount get a 1.5L alpha passenger mount and cut engine mount from bushing housing as asiman1 did...reweld mount when engine is later lowered into engine bay, but not after pounding the sidewall with hammer to clear some room for belts,

install power steering pump into beta, transaxle from alpha 2 will bolt onto beta engine directly with no problems ya?
BTW: what belts do i need for the engine? and will the motor mount bracket's from the front and rear motor mounts from the alpha 2 fit on the beta?

motor has 30,000 miles on it, not bad at all for a engine from a 2001 Xd

you don't need to remove the radiator, but the a/c condensor fan has to go.
if you are going to bang in the sidewall to make room then you can use the 3 stock mounting brackets and locations. another option is to drill new holes in the old brackets and move the whole engine and tranny over .5" (thats what i did) either way works.
you'll have to buy some longer bolts for the transmission becuase they actually go through the beta's block (3 i think) you'll have to see what im talking about when you go to do it.

MAKE 150% sure you have disconnected EVERYTHING!! before you pull out the alpha. i missed my fuel line and the ground to the strut tower. so quadruple check everything to make sure you have it disconnected.

another tip is to mark your connectors with tape or something and write what they go to. my coolant temp sensor and drivers side 2 injectors had the EXACT same plug and are right next to each other so be sure to not get those mixed up.

is there anyone who's willing to ship me a custom passenger mount for the beta swap, bizarre can't be reached, kojaxian nelix's mount's are too pricey and i can't make my own because i don't have a arc welder

of course I'll pay but i'll need it asap,

and i really don't want to wait until monday to go to ben's and have it done..too long,

what other member's reside in northen virigina?
I live in the hampton roads area, but i havent done a beta swap. Im not going to do it to my alpha because it has suspension problems. I really want to do it, but i think it would be better off just buying a newer car.
Awesome! That is great news. I have sent you emails about the swap dates.
so i gotta wait 4 week's or next wednesday to do the swap??Yikes!!
then lend me a engine crane so i can get this beta off my trunk, i can't get it off,
depressed::depressed:

2nd..is there anyone who's willing to volunteer to help me perform my beta swap?
i can go to maryland if i have too, and of course i'll pay for your services

lol you psycho.
i showed the mechanic some of your DIY pictures, asiman1
your pic's persuaded him to do the beta swap
Good Luck!

Maybe when your done you can give me a hand? :)

Hope everything goes well
sure i'll come and help you,
althoug i am a bit shamed that i wasted $1600 on the swap labor
my DIY pride has been stained :dead::dead:

NOTE:when buying a beta for beta swap, get beta flywheel, power steering pump and a beta starter!!

BTW:what's the 0-60 time for all the beta swapped LC owner's here?
and how's the power difference? weld you to the seat power or a strong surge of power?

the true beauty of a 1.6L, even a weak ass like me can pull it out of a car by hand :D
hey dont get your hopes that itll be a 14 second car. i ran a 16.004 last summer. with the header and the exhaust im hoping to have broken 15s. im gonna run again before i do the turbo.

think about it as it shouldev come this way, thats all its fun nontheless.
i'm hoping it'll be a bit more quicker since i'm using the sotck wheels and tire sizes which is easier on the axle's and the tranny..less load

MY MAIN Question is how to get the alpha 2 starter to work the beta?
ui mean how did you guy's do it?
i really need to know by tonight before the shop guy orders a beta starter which is more wasted money for me!!

i mean the thin metal plate that is bolted with the flywheel that house's the starter,
which one do i have to use?the smaller plate which is from the beta or the big one which is from the alpha?
I used the beta mounting plate during my swap and also used the alpha starter because we knew already that it worked. We had to cut the plate a little to fit the alpha starter to fit.
where did you cut the mounting plate?

and what fitment problems did you have?
was the starter gear teeth to far away from the flywheel or it was too high from the flywheel?
i used a starter from a beta 1
