Ok what is the deal w/claiming a car LEMON? I have taken my car in about 4 times this 1 year alone. New ECU this last time and the time before that it was in for a new tranny and everything else it seems like. It has all been covered under warranty but this is starting t chap my a$$. Today my CEL came on once again.. Anyone ever done this before (used the Lemon Law)? When I bought the car, it was sold as new even though it had 1900 "test drive miles" on it so they say because it was their floor room car and never sold. Aren't they required to tell me if the car has been wrecked because honestly i think they sold me a used wrecked car as a new one. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Depends on which state you buy it in whetehr they would have to tell you if it was wrecked but usually you would have to ask. Do you even have any evidence that it was wrecked?

Also if it was a used car you would have known when you applied for the title so I seriously doubt this would be the case.

Also since you say you bought the car new and it was the dealer floor model then I will assume you bought it in 1998 and the cars at that time didn't have a 5year warranty so therefore you are not covered.

Just deal with it. Cars break and yours is around that time where stuff starts to break. I realy don't believe you have a case for lemon law.

Car was bought new in february 2000. It still has plenty of warranty. It was their floor car but nobody bought it so when the new models came in, thery moved it outside and got test driven alot i am assuming because it had 1900 miles on it when i bought it. I have taken it is atleast 4 times in a period of a year and is about to go in again. The service people have done soo much work to it and the problem always comes back about a month or two later.

If that car was for test drives it could have been beaten up pretty bad by prospective drivers...

I know that when I test drive a car I like to see what it can do.

Now take your car for example... After 1900 miles of hard driving (before break in period)... Your car is prolly a little looser than the town slut.

Good luck with your clain.

Dude, let me get this straight, you bought a "98 tiburon" "New" in 2000, but it had only 1900 miles on it? I think that you got screwed buddy. I mean didn't it send warnings up in your brain that it is a 1998 model, but they are selling it in 2000 as new? Dude I bet they was cheesin behind your back as you drove off. heh heh

typically, for it to be a lemon, you've got to bring it back for the dealership to fix the same thing at least 3 times.

buncha different things doesn't make it a lemon

Well this is the third time it is going in for the same problem. I honestly dont think they know what is wrong w/it. They kept it for 3 weeks in December because they had no idea why it wouldn't run. I get it back and 2 weeks later it is the CEL again. This time they said the TPS sensor they replaced in December is not working righ so they put in another. Then 1 week later CEL is on again. They order me a new ECU thinking it wasn't reading the TPS right? Then yesterday, CEL is on once again and it drives like it did when the TPS sensor was messed up the first 3 times it was questioned and then replaced.

Dude, dealerships are fuking cock suckers! They could probably fix your problem if there heads weren't up there ass's! I think if your "trained" to fix a specific car you should be able to fix a problem easily. If I were you I would call the main hyundai office in california.1-800-633-5151. After that I would contact a lawyer and find out your rights. I would take them to court for you time, stress, and any loses such as the fact your paying good money evry month for a car you hardly drive cause it's always in the fuking shop!!

Well the light being on isn't what really bothers me. It is when i go to push the gas and the fvcker either bogs forever or just stalls. Feels like I am driving a tank because whatever is wrong, is seriously shaking my car. Plus normally my service manager is hell-a cool but i called him 3 times today and he put me on hold the first time till i got pissed and hung up. 2ns time he suddenly wasn't in and the 3rd time was like i cant get u in this week.so if u need a rental it is up to you.

Guys don't feel bad.I currently own a 2002 mercedes c class coupe(the new hatchback) I purchased the car on aug 29,2001.I have been to the dealer for repairs 13 times allready.Four of the times was the same engine problem. As of right now my car is still in the shop,I am driving a loaner car that the dealership gave me (a white buick century)I would go to the gas station to full up and after fulling up the tank, I would put the key in the ignition to start it an the car would back fire and smoke and then shutoff.I had to do it twice to get the car started. My check engine light stayed on constantly.I took it to the dealership so many times the mechanics ask me when was I going to clock in.I finally got feed up and went to an lawyer.I am currently going through the lemon law in my state.I am trying to get out of my lease. When I do I will never buy a mercedes again.I had a 2000 tiburon and it was the most reliable car I have owned. If I win this law suit I am going to get a 2003 gt tiburon.I have already test drove one an I think it is just as good if not better than the c230.I can tell you this it is faster and the sound system in the tib sounds better.I don't know if mercedes is getting worse or hyundai getting better.I hope to god I can get out of this lemon and get into 2003 tib.
