I got new General Altimax Arctic tires from Tirerack. 175-70-13. They were $204 including tax and shipping ($42 a tire). I've had them on for about 1000 miles and I think they are the best winter tire I've had on in a long time. Aggressive tread and narrowness of the 175 tire helps my move right along at normal speeds as well as starts on the hills here in Maine. $200 shipped you cant beat em and the tread design is the same as the expensive Gislaved Nord Frost 3. Made in Germany, and they can be studded

Thank god for the heat in georgia. I have never had to deal with snow that sticks to the roads. It must be a hassel having to change tires every season!

bleed some air from the tires, about to 20-15 psi, it'll give the tire more con

Itd think you would want the opposite of a fat tire in the snow. Id think the wider tire would just be pushing more snow and slush instead of cutting through it.
