I'm having problems with my '94 excel. Up to now its been a great car. Lately (when it gets warm)it 'shudders' or jerks from a stopping position when I press the gas, sometimes. (It not consistant except that it happens when it has warmed up.) I've tried new gas and changed the oil filter and still it feels like it just isn't getting the gas to it. It wants to go but doesn't have the fuel to do it. Has anyone come across this problem? I'm not sure what it could be? Thanks for your help...<img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle>

You could try changing your spark plugs? How long has it been since you put new wires and plugs in there?

I would buy some gas additive and see if that cleans the fuel injectors. If the plugs and wires don't work either then take it in for a tune up. That should fix it.

This is for anyone else. I think my fuel pump is starting to go bad, its making a sound from the back of the car. My parent's branco had the same sound and it was a bad fuel pump...
